About

Aaron J. Godlaski Ph.D.

I am a Licensed Psychologist practicing in Lexington, Kentucky. I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Kentucky in 2012. Training in a variety of evidence-based methods including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-based approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Existential-Humanistic models,  I focused on outpatient psychotherapy and neuropsychological assessment as well as the applications of biofeedback, clinical hypnosis, and the practice of psychology in physical medicine settings in the treatment of chronic orofacial pain. During my  residency I continued this work on a physical medicine rehab unit while simultaneously training in Brief Psychodynamic and Lacanian Psychoanalytic methods of outpatient practice at SUNY Upstate Medical University Hospital in Syracuse, NY.  Previously working in both medical center and clinical practice settings, I have assisted clients from early to late-adulthood with issues ranging from coping with chronic disease to serious mental illness. My approach to therapy is integrative and dynamic in order to meet the specific needs of individual clients. I also offer diagnostic assessment for ADHD in children and adults, and am particularly interested in the ways in which ADHD manifest in young women who often go undiagnosed until early adulthood. The methods I use are evidence-based, meaning that their efficacy is supported by controlled scientific research. I believe this is a key feature of responsible practice. Beyond my work as a clinician I also teach and conduct research on topics related to nature and health, and climate anxiety/eco anxiety as Associate Professor in the Behavioral Neuroscience and Psychology programs at Centre College in Danville, KY.

I am licensed to practice in the state of Kentucky and hold an Authorization to Practice Teletherapy (APIT) in most other states
